How the engraving works

This is laser engraving, not printing. Our team first redraws your photo as a clean line sketch, then the laser etches that sketch directly into the steel. The engraving sits within the pendant’s engraving panel — the polished steel above and below the panel stays plain, which is what gives the piece its finished look. Because the design is cut into the metal rather than printed on top, it will not fade, peel or wash off.

Will it look like my photo?

It will look like a sketch of your photo, not a photographic reproduction — clean lines, simplified detail, recognisable features. That is the intended style. It works best with:

• One person, facing the camera
• The face filling a good part of the frame — not a distant or wide shot
• Even lighting, no heavy shadow across the face
• A clear, in-focus photo — a blurry source gives a blurry sketch

We send you a preview of the sketch before we engrave, so nothing is cut into the steel until you have approved how it looks.
